The thematic focus of the upcoming 2008 annual conference of the Society of American
Archivists--the identity of the archivist--is equally suited to the practicum. Archivists
often define themselves and measure their professional growth through associations such
as the SAA since such professional associations afford networking, career enhancement,
sources of knowledge and experience, and opportunities for leadership and mentoring.
The panel for this session includes three SAA presidents (past, current, and incoming)
Come for a relaxing meal (I hear its going to be quite tasty) with your fellow colleagues at the Bentley. Its a wrap-up to the practicum, but all are welcome. Its so relaxed that you don't even need to worry about networking. Wrap up the semester and maybe win a neat prize! Please RSVP and also make a note if you would like a vegetarian meal or not.
The Mid-Michigan ARMA chapter is offering a day long seminar on archives, records and information management. Topics for the event include functional retention schedule development, digital information trends, embracing electronic communications, and many more.
