Canton Service - Feb. 16 @ 10am
Canton Historical Society
David will be working at the Canton Historical Society this Saturday, February 16 at 10am. I'll be working until 1pm. I think the goal for Saturday will be to finish up the high level appraisal of the rest of the collection, the top three shelves. If we finish that, we can look at creating several record series that will work for Liz at CHS. Let me know if you are interested in attending this weekend (Ann Arbor students may want to use the SAA website or the CTools site to set up a ride. I'll be coming from Detroit, so I won't be able to drive this time). I hope to see you there.

Canton Update 2/21/2008
Community service at Canton is going pretty well. We just finished a high level appraisal of the collection and will start to break it into different series and rebox/refolder where necessary. While cataloging the whole time. David W. and I found a couple of inventory forms for them to use, which will help. I think we will just put stuff in to places where they can easily find stuff from now on and in a way that makes sense to organize them. Rid the collection of things outside the scope of Canton, MI as well. They also need, and maybe our group can help, a collection policy and other policies for the archive.
