The original announcement and news for the project are posted below.
The Canton Historical Society is a local organization dedicated to preserving the history of the city of Canton, Michigan. The society has an archive with a plethora of information. This includes paper records, photographs, audio/video oral histories, an interesting collection of historical books, maps, and many other objects dating back from the 1700's. Students will start by arranging and describing the collections at CHS, with some digitization and preservation work possible. Please contact David Zande (dmzande@umich.edu) for more information.
The Ann Arbor Civic Theatre (A2CT) is a primarily volunteer-based organization that has been around for over 78 years. It has archives of posters, announcements, and photographs of its productions ranging back to the 1950s.
From May-June 2007, Margaret Hedstrom and David Wallace took a group of seven Master's and one PhD student to the University of Fort Hare, in Alice, South Africa, to work with their university records. These are pictures from our trip. You can visit the University of Fort Hare archives website at film izle to learn more about their archives.
