2008 Summer Archive Internship

Office of Treaty Affairs

The Office of Treaty Affairs, an office within the U.S. Department of
State's Office of the Legal Adviser, is pleased to offer a Summer
Archive Internship for graduate students. This internship is designed to
provide a summer work experience for a graduate student interested in
pursuing an archival or records management career. The intern will
participate in a large-scale arrangement project, assist with
development of finding guides, and support technical issues.

The Archive at Democracy Now!, http://www.democracynow.org, is
seeking applications for spring 2008 internships. The archive is a
audiovisual archive containing approximately 50,000 media items and a
research library within a non-profit, independent news organization.
The archive's collection contains field recordings, oral histories,
recordings of news events, and related independent news material from

They are located in North Hollywood. Great pay! Wonderful organization! A recent graduate, Mary Williams, is currently working there as their Digital Archivist. If you haven’t read her blog—you definitely should!

Archives Technician Internships – 6 available, South Florida Collections Management Center

Position: Archives Technician Internships –6 available

Duration: One 20-week/800 hours internship; four 12-week (480 hours) internship; and one 10 week/400 hours internship available.

Salary: A stipend of $12.00/hour. Income taxes are not withheld and are the responsibility of the intern(s).

Schedule: Start date is flexible depending on student availability and course schedule. Monday-Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. However, scheduling is somewhat flexible.
