Come to the Society of American Archivists Student Chapter's Third Wednesday Happy Hour tomorrow, Wednesday, October 21st. The Happy Hour will be at Good Time Charley's (1140 S. University) from 4:30PM to 7:00PM.

SAA Third Wednesday Happy Hours are held on the third Wednesday of each month at the same time and place.

ICPSR is holding a Digital Preservation Management Workshop next week, and several of the archivists and preservation professionals attending this workshop have graciously agreed to attend a dinner reception and panel discussion we are hosting on Wednesday, October 14. From 5:30 - 7:30 you have the chance to hear about the work these individuals perform, their experiences in the field, and will be able to ask them questions about what they do.

Here's a chance to mingle with archives and records management professionals! ARMA Detroit is holding a meeting on October 21 from 4:30 to 8:00PM.

At least one SAA officer will attend this event as a U of M representative. Your student chapter will periodically send out email reminders about this meeting, and will organize a carpool to transport students to Detroit.

Bentley Historical Library Reception for Danish Archivists - RSVP by Friday, Sept. 25

On Thursday, October 1 from 4:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m., the Bentley Historical Library will host a reception for a group of ten digital archivists from Denmark. Food and drink will be provided by the BHL.

Area archivists, University of Michigan archivists and curators, and University Michigan School of Information students are all cordially invited. This a great opportunity to meet the Bentley staff, as well as international and regional archivists.

Join us on the third Wednesday of each month to celebrate, commiserate, or just hang out. All are welcome--especially ARM and PI students--to join us for a mid-week libation.

Our first happy hour of the school year will be this Wednesday, September 16th at Good Time Charley's (1140 S. University), from 4:30 to 7:00 p.m.

(Subsequent Third Wednesday Happy Hours will be at the same time and place, unless otherwise noted.)

5 SI students present posters at national SAA conference in Austin

5 students and newly-graduated alumni of the School of Information have been chosen to present posters at the annual national conference of the Society of American Archivists.
